RADIOLOGY PROFILE

Radiology

Orthopedics and Radiology go hand-in-hand in veterinary care. Radiographs are taken for diagnostic reasons and after surgery to reveal the internal or external hardware placement.

The department does digital radiographs, CT scans and MRIs that can be viewed and saved from any computer throughout the clinic. This allows the viewer to zoom in and add measuring tools.

The patients are anesthetized before heading to Radiology for radiographs. The technicians take great care to be sure the animal is in just the right position to provide the best view of the bones for the orthopedic team to form an accurate diagnosis.

After surgery, the animal heads straight from the operating room to radiology. Both the radiologist and surgeon examine and approve the radiographs before the patient goes on to recovery. This is important to verify that the implants are correctly placed.
